Togo-Halcyon Incubator Intensive 2020 Ends on More Apply to Togo-Halcyon Incubator Intensive 2020 What you can expect from Halcyon The Halcyon Incubator program equips early-stage social entrepreneurs with the support they need to transform audacious ideas into scalable and sustainable ventures. We do this by providing you with three things: space, community, and access. Halcyon Incubator has supported social entrepreneurs from every sector from around the world with our unique residential, immersive model. In order to increase access to this unique program, we’ve launched the Halcyon Incubator Intensives. These tailored programs condense Halcyon's 5-month incubator program into a 2-week intensive that focuses on key skills related to sales, marketing, operations, investment-readiness, and the art of weaving social impact into the fabric of a business plan. Space - The Halcyon Incubator was founded to ensure that all social entrepreneurs, regardless of their geography or economic background, can succeed. We give you physical and mental space, so you can focus more of your energy on your venture and achieve your full potential. You will be provided with 11 days of free housing at the historic Halcyon House from Aug 17-28, 2020 Dedicated work spaces, shared meeting, formal board rooms and creative areas Inspirational outdoor spaces and walking access to the historic Georgetown neighborhood Community - Your journey as an entrepreneur is long and winding. You will experience many ups and downs, and we understand that you will need lots of support along the way. The Halcyon Incubator builds a community of support around you through our community of entrepreneurs and a robust network of world-class mentors and advisors. These mentors and advisors are seasoned entrepreneurs, experienced change-makers, and leaders across sectors who want to help you. Entrepreneurs live and work alongside a diverse cohort of entrepreneurs who quickly become consultants, confidants, and close friends Regular engagement with dedicated Halcyon incubator staff Opportunities for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and drinks with Fellows and Halcyon’s broader network to build and nurture relationships Access - You need an ecosystem to build, grow, and sustain a social enterprise. The Halcyon Incubator connects entrepreneurs with key partners to advise and directly support Fellows’ ventures and provide crucial exposure. Opportunities to present directly to ecosystem stakeholders, press, and potential funders Access to a world-class network of partners, supporters, investors, and Halcyon Incubator Fellow alumni Access to a wide range of innovators, influencers, and community figures through conferences and events Ground transportation for any off-site training and/or cultural activities taking place within the Washington, D.C. area A complete and daily agenda for the Program participants Advice from legal, business, communications, marketing, and accounting partner companies Pitch sessions with leading startup and impact investors What Halcyon expects from you You need to be able to fully commit to attending the full program period at the Halcyon facility in Washington DC from August 17-28 in order to be eligible for selection to the program. The Halcyon Incubator is an intense, demanding, once in a lifetime opportunity for Fellows and their social enterprises. Full-time participation includes: Living and/or working out of Halcyon in Washington, DC for the residency phase from August 17, 2020, to August 28, 2020. Pitching your business at a final showcase event. Setting SMART objectives and key results to work towards throughout the program period A commitment from the CEO or primary decision-maker to be working on the venture full time during the program You must commit to being an active member of the Halcyon community by positively contributing to our ecosystem and sharing your talents, expertise, and empathy with Fellows. By The People 2020: Call for Satellite Partners More Apply to By The People 2020: Call for Satellite Partners By the People 2020: Open Call for Satellite Partners What is the BTP 2020 Satellite Partner open call? This open call invites arts organizations and presenting institutions to submit proposals for inclusion in By the People 2020, presented June 12-28, 2020 in Washington, DC. (If you are an individual artist who already has a venue and is interested in having your venue be a satellite partner, please share this application with your presenting organization). What is By the People? By the People is a city-wide international arts and dialogue festival in Washington, DC presented by Halcyon, which supports innovative emerging creatives through fellowships in art and social entrepreneurship. The inaugural 2018 festival presented free and accessible art and performance to over a dozen venues in all four quadrants of Washington, DC. The festival’s more than 100 events included performances, art installations, and curated conversations about what it means to seek life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness (the festivals undercurrent themes). In 2019, we expanded further with a two week festival under curator Jessica Stafford Davis, founder of The Agora Culture, and thanks to a multitude of truly outstanding partners made up of new and good friends alike. Curatorial Vision 2020: The preliminary curatorial vision for By the People 2020 is entitled CULTURE SUPREME featuring installations and performances addressing the current shift in how Americans enact and shape democracy, from a political to a cultural perspective. Artwork at BTP 2020's hub sites will examine how culture is the single driving force in our major societal systems. CULTURE SUPREME will include both local and nationally-acclaimed artists who will present multi-disciplinary works which ask us to consider the society in which we live, the systems and institutions we take for granted, and dialogues around the future we want to build for humanity. Eligibility Criteria Organizations, venues, and institutions must meet the following criteria to be considered: · Located in the DMV area · Agree to present free, inclusive, and where possible, thematically-related content, during the festival dates · Promote participation in By The People 2020 on e-news and social media platforms · Place By The People signage in publicly accessible location during the festival dates Halcyon will promote Satellite Partners on the By The People website, collateral, press announcements, and social media, including an interactive map of all Satellite Partner locations.
